Recently Acquired by Microsoft, Zenimax is Working on New AAA Title

If you’re missing to try out some new AAA games, you should realistically count on Zenimax Online to bring them to you soon. The company is not only the developer of Elder Scrolls Online, it was also bought by Microsoft for an astronomical amount of money: $7.5 billion.

Xbox News announces that a brand new AAA game is under the works by Zenimax, and the good news is far from over:

“Confirmed: Xbox first-party studio Zenimax Online, developer of The Elder Scrolls Online, is working on a brand new AAA IP, built on a brand new game engine. The title has been in development since at least 2018.”

Alex Tardiff, who’s a Zenimax designer, comes to add something:

“Not much to say about this yet, but it’s been so much fun creating a brand new engine. With how rare this kind of thing is nowadays, I feel fortunate to be at this studio while we invest heavily in our own technology.”

Despite the work for the upcoming game, Zenimax doesn’t intend to neglect the involvement in the beloved Elder Scrolls Online game. This is what the company’s boss Matt Firor said, and we can rely on his words.

Elder Scrolls Online still rocks

Despite being only six years old, Elder Scrolls Online counts 15 million players. The game arrived for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. We can also expect it to become available for the next-generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X starting this November.

Nobody can deny the tremendous success of The Elder Scrolls series, and that alone is a strong argument for how big are the expectations regarding a sixth main installment. The Elder Scrolls 6 will arrive in the near future, and it cannot be otherwise considering that the latest title of the series is already 9 years old. Let’s not also forget that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be available for both PS5 and Xbox Series X, which means that the game won’t be arriving until December 2020.
